Hello to all!
This drumset for auction was created for one reunion and is being auctioned off following another – from Ween in 2016 to The Shit Creek Boys in 2018 following two nights at the Ryman Auditorium.
I loved the sound of this kit so much a new and updated version was made with wood hoops – I’ve been using it for the last five-plus shows and I look forward to the years of music I’ll make with it. So this is a fitting way to see the first version of this kit off, and I am forever grateful for everyone’s signature on the shells and the lending of their support.
Proceeds from this auction are going to SoundSpace– a project to create a music-rehearsal space facility, soul food kitchen and cultural landmark inside of a historic Chitlin’ Circuit era,’Tourist Court” motel/restaurant in the city of Asheville, NC. We’ll be helping to rebuild a connection to a legacy in Asheville’s Black history both in business and in the arts.
I had longed for an acrylic drumset for a long while. I mean, Bonham. Beyond their ordinarily associated bombast they actually have great dynamic range and a uniquely natural sound. These days they are doing amazing finishes with acrylics that you would never know are synthetic shells.
The folks at Bucks Country Drums Company made my dream into reality with this ‘Reunion’ kit, and it has been my main touring kit since 2016 culminating with our recent run at Ryman Auditorium with the Shit Creek Boys in October, 2018.
The shells are welll crafted with roundover edges in a black Oyster Pearl finish, with black hardware. The shell sizes are an inch deeper than standard size – giving the acrylics even wider dynamic range:
12×11(rack tom); 16×14(floor tom); 20×18(kick drum)
The auction is for the three drums alone, nothing additional.
The shells are in excellent condition kept diligently in heavily protected cases and minded by our head stage person Gabe Monago, a long-time family and whose signature is among those on the kit.
This memorabilia piece is extra special, because it is scribed with the autographs of our beloved extended touring crew: from FOH Kirk Miller to Monica Hampton!
Gene Ween – Dean Ween – Claude Coleman, Jr – Dave Driewitz – Glen McClelland – Bobby Odgen – Russ Hicks – Danny Parks – Hank Singer – Kirk Miller – Gabe Monago – David Miles – Tomas Gajewski – Monica Hampton – Dave Beer – Random Ryman Auditorium Stagehand Fellow
Serious bids only. Bidding is moderated.
I wish you happy bidding – and I thank you for your support of SoundSpace @Rabbit’s, the music scene in Asheville, and the preservation of cultural history that deserves to be along with the rest of history.
